Key Information & Purpose:

You are invited to participate in a doctoral research study exploring how spirituality predicts physical health-related quality of life among Judeo-Christian adults aged 18–50, and whether faith orientation moderates this relationship.

Things you should know:

• The purpose of this study is to explore the extent to which spirituality predicts physical health-related quality of life among Judeo-Christian adults aged 18-50, and whether faith orientation potentially moderates this relationship. If you choose to participate, you will be asked to answer a set of self-report inventories. This will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.

• Participants should not expect a direct benefit from participating in this study.

• Taking part in this research project is voluntary. You do not have to participate, and you can stop at any time.

• Benefits to society include data that displays the application and impact of spirituality during emerging and middle adulthood in a study that aims to expand on research done on spirituality. Furthermore, participating in this study would benefit the field of psychological studies as participants would be forming part of one of the only studies that explores the predictive relationship between spirituality and the physical health-related quality of life of Judeo-Christian adults aged 18-50, and the moderating role of faith orientation in this relationship

Eligibility:

- Age 18 to 50 years old

- Identify with a Judeo-Christian faith orientation (Protestant, Catholic, Orthodox, Messianic Jewish)

- Proficient in reading and understanding English

Procedures:

Completing this survey takes approximately 20–30 minutes. You will complete a brief demographic background, Delaney's Spirituality Scale (23 items), and the SF-12 Health Survey (12 items).

Voluntary Participation & Compensation:

Participation in this study is voluntary. Your decision whether to participate will not affect your current or future relations with Liberty University. If you decide to participate, you are free not to answer any question or withdraw at any time without affecting those relationships. Upon completing the survey, you will be eligible to receive a $10 electronic gift card (e.g., Visa, Amazon, Espressology). Your email address for compensation tracking will be collected on a separate, unlinked form to ensure your survey answers remain 100% anonymous. If you choose to withdraw from the study, please contact the researcher at the email address/phone number in the next paragraph. Should you withdraw, data collected from you will be destroyed immediately and not included in this study.

Data Privacy & Security:

The records of this study will be kept private. Published reports will not include any information that will make it possible to identify a subject. Research records will be stored securely, and only the researcher will have access to the records.

• Participant responses will be anonymous.

• Data will be stored on a password-locked computer within a Microsoft Excel file. Only the researcher and the researcher’s faculty supervisor will have access to the data. After three years, all electronic records will be deleted.

• The data from this study will be analyzed using AI by analyzing statistical datasets, identifying trends, and generating insights related to the data. Data will be stored on a password-locked computer. The researcher and the researcher’s faculty supervisor will have access to the data. After three years, the data will be deleted.
